Wednesday, November 4, 2009. The day that Elder Andrew Miller reported to the MTC. And we weren't going to miss out on the Miller family being in the western half of the country! So we packed up, loaded the car and headed for Provo. That is, Larry, Porter and me.
We left on Sunday the 1st and headed for Boise. We stayed at our good friends, the Gale's, that night before heading to Provo the next morning. Elizabeth, Tom and Andy flew in to Salt Lake City the morning as well. While they hung out with Tom's sister, we checked into our hotel and did a little shopping. Porter did ok but was definitely going into sister-withdrawal! We met up that night at the hotel- we had rooms 3 doors down at the same hotel. I will skip the yada yada yada of traveling and hoteling with a 2-yr old and focus on the fun we had with the Miller's.
Shopping for the last of Andy's stuff. Eating out... a lot. Bowling and dinner at the Brick Oven - thanks to our sweet, babysitting niece, Cassidy. Afternoon at the park. Basking in sunshine and 70's [Freaky weather just for us!]. Games in our hotel room. Tepanyaki to send Andy off- again, thank you Cassidy- you don't know how much you saved us! Dinner with the Ryan and Kristi, who came up just to see us from good-ol' Price. Hugs. Love. Tears. Pictures. More hugs. Sweet goodbyes. Beautiful Temple Square. Lunch at the Beehive House- delish! More goodbyes. More hugs. More tears.
The long trip home was broken up by a stay at the Hotel Chugg. We got to hang out with Mark, Tami, the Gale's and all their kids. Thanks to all of you for opening your home each time we travel through Idaho! We would love to have stayed longer, but we were anxious to get back home to our own kiddies after a long week.
