Mountainview 7th and 8th grade Choir Concert

Riley sang in the Advanced Girls' Choir this year.  Sydney sang in the 7th grade girls' choir.  Ms. Rice- their favorite teacher! - was gracious enough to plan the concert with all choirs combined to make one evening in June that families could see all of their children.  Yeah!  So here they are.

This is Maisyn and me watching- or should I say waiting - during intermission....

Then the Disney Dazzle began!  They had several Disney songs mixed in with a little play acting out Beauty and the Beast.  Sydney got to play some dishes!

The combined choirs also sang a Journey song - Haley T. had a solo for the girls part

along with another boy who sang the boys part.  It was very "Glee-esque".  Impressive!

I don't think Riley will continue with choir in high school.  So this was it for her. 

But she had fun and will always remember Ms. Rice as one of her favorites! 

Sydney made Advanced Girls' Choir for 8th grade next year and is thrilled to have

one more year of singing bliss!

'Tis the Season

...for choir concerts...

Maisyn is a member of the Victor Falls Elementary choir.  They were able to perform their holiday songs at the Sumner Fire Station during their pancake breakfast.

They also took a field trip to the BL Senior Center and the Cedar Ridge Retirement community where they performed the entire show for two more crowds.  Oma was in town for this trip, so we all went along.  Porter enjoyed seeing Maisyn on a school day!

Sydney and Riley are both in the choirs at Mountainview.  Both groups performed on the same night and Grandpa and Oma were both able to be there.

The day after we got back from our Utah trip was my birthday. Wooohooo! 37. Got new jammies from Maisyn. A beautiful picture frame full of Florida/Disney memories, organization baskets for the kitchen and, if I can remember correctly, dinner out my hubby. It was good to be home to celebrate with the family.

But the day after that... now that is the day to remember. Riley's 14th. Gifts galore. Grandparents over for dinner. A chocolate-Snickers cake. And just fun, fun, fun.

Then.... Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
Payton and Karissa decided to throw her a big surprise party. I guess one party just isn't enough these days. Syd and Maisyn were in on it, too. Lots of secrets to keep this girl in the dark! So she got the last shift for helping me at a holiday boutique I was doing, and we arrived home to a house full! As always, lots of food, plenty of friends plus an entire evening of goofing around outside in the cold equals good times had by all. Happy birthday, Riley! Until next year.....

Track meet #2, Riley

Not to toot my own horn, but my daughter can run. She is just plain good at it. So we were glad when she decided to go out for track this year. Now, we aren't the most excited trackster parents when it comes to the 5 hour long meets, but we love to see our kids participate. Riley has discovered hurdles this year. She is doing well and enjoying it. This meet she also ran the 4x1 relay, the 4x2 relay, and the 200m. My girls sometimes think of all sports as just pre-basketball conditioning... it's fun to see Riley really take to this.
