Jack and the Beanstalk- Missoula Children's Theatre

For those who haven't had the chance, we would highly recommend participating in the Missoula Children's Theatre when it comes to town. This was our 3rd year. Maisyn was the only one available this year and, I think, was a little nervous on her own. (2 years ago: Riley, Sydney and Maisyn were in Wizard of Oz; last summer: Sydney and Maisyn were in Little Red Riding Hood). A local business sponsors the program here in Bonney Lake and, along with the city, brings them back again and again. Each child gets a part, this year Maisyn was part of the circus band. Yes, I know, you are having trouble recalling a circus -let alone the circus band- in Jack and the Beanstalk, but these stories are developed and tweaked to make them very child friendly. I think they are able to shrink or grow it, as well, depending on how many show up for tryouts. The great thing about it is you go to the tryouts on Monday, get your part after the 1-2 hours there. Start rehearsals that afternoon or the next day. Practice through Friday, then dress rehearsals are Saturday with 2 shows that evening. Compact. Simple. Lots of fun. There are 2 college students who bring all the equipment, costumes, sets, etc and are the directors. This year it was Emily and Lauren, I think. They were very nice and the show turned out great!
